Job Title: HR Manager
Location: Cary, NC
Reports to: VP, Global Human Resources 
Travel Requirements: 10%

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for providing support for the Human Resources function, including but not limited to the following areas: employee relations, recruitment, performance management, training, and benefits supporting the corporate personnel (including remote employees, Canada, South & Latin America, Asia, Europe, and some corporate personnel at plants).  Works with the HR VP to establish and implement policies and programs that impact organizational success and position the company as an employer of choice. ​​

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead employee relations, investigations and supporting management in the disciplinary/performance improvement plan process 

  • Update job descriptions and summaries for current positions  

  • Recruiting –  

  • Post job 

  • Create 1-page posting, pdf file and send to marketing to post on all VLS social media venues 

  • Depending on job, VP will post on LinkedIn Recruiter 

  • Review resumes, schedule interviews 

  • Provide weekly and monthly reports to various groups from UKG Pro system 

  • Receive, redact, process weekly and monthly invoices (staffing agencies for corporate/RTP temps, direct hire placements, benefits, and pre-employment vendors) 

  • Lead termination process 

  • Maintain company organizational charts 

  • Principal party in our Health and Welfare benefit administration and renewal process  

  • Maintain Company Wellness Initiatives, communicating with payroll any changes in deductions 

  • Maintain personnel files and I-9s in compliance with applicable local, state and federal law 

  • Keep employee records up to date by processing employee status changes in timely fashion and ensuring proper approvals in coordination with payroll 

  • Administrator for keeping pertinent, up to date information/policies and forms on the HR page on Sharepoint [Intranet] and in HRIS 

  • Develop and/or deliver training presentations on a variety of HR-related topics; create video presentations 

  • Process and administer all leave of absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability and FMLA for all corporate and remote employees 

  • Files EEO-1 report annually; maintain other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations 

  • ACA Reporting – Responsible for completing the ACA reporting annually and timely to comply with federal laws 

  • Assist with the performance review, goal setting and individual development plan process via UKG Pro system (HRIS); responsible for scheduling distribution of reviews to employees in the HRIS 

  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting for department 

  • Represent the company for any unemployment claims for corporate and remote employees – online or via mail/fax claim responses and/or protests 

  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality 

  • Provide any assistance needed on workers’ compensation for corporate and remote employees 

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Demonstrate resourcefulness and initiative in dealing with daily assumptions 

  • Ability to help employees manage through change and interact with employees in a positive manner 

  • Ability to keep employees’ confidence and gain trust; provide a safe environment 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum work experience of 10+ years full time in a Human Resources role 

  • Minimum education of BA or BS degree in Human Resources or a similar concentration preferred 

  • HR Certification required 

  • Analytical abilities to create or assist with reports, presentations analyzing various aspects of human resources – turnover, headcount numbers, time to fill positions, etc. 

  • Payroll processing – Knowledge and experience with the processing of payrolls from start to finish, pre-payroll duties and post-payroll duties is preferred and a plus
